Chris was discussing a passage of Scripture with me about unbelievers vs. believers.

Aidan said, "I'm a believer, you're a believer (pointing at Chris). Evan is a believer...?"

I replied, "I'm not sure if Evan is a believer or not, Aidan."

Evan pipes up and says, "I asked Jesus in my heart!"

We all just looked at him! First off, he's four years old, and his understanding of the term believer was phenomenal, and secondly, Evan has made it clear that he has NOT asked Jesus in his heart. He has said as much on many occasions.

Chris asked him when it happened, and Evan said, "I did it quietly when we were in the car yesterday."

(yesterday, to Evan, means any day before today... LOL)

Chris asked, "where were we at?"

Evan said, "At Walmart"

That was the day that Chris had talked to Evan about salvation and Aidan had told Evan how he got saved. :) Evan apparently thought about everything, and asked Jesus into his heart secretly.

Now when he talks about it he says that it was a secret, and that's why he didn't tell anyone before. LOL

So sweet! :)

while driving Aidan to Will Marty's birthday party:

Aidan said, "Mommy, guess where Jesus is?"

"Where"

"He's EVERYWHERE!!!! He's up in space, he's in heaven, he's over there and over here. He's even in here!" (Pointing at himself)

"That's right Aidan! Jesus IS everywhere"

"Yep." he said, "and that's how I know that if you die or Dady dies or Evan dies or my little sister baby Meagan dies that they will be everywhere too! Because you guys will be with Jesus!"

April 5, 2010 Aidan

We are in a play for the upcoming missions conference that involves showing the differences between the five major religions of the world and the hope that Christ brings in the midst of all the confusion. We took the kids to rehearsal with us. When the 'unreligious' character stood up and said "There is no God, there is no heaven" Aidan called out, "Yes, there IS a heaven!" And came over and whispered to me, "there is a heaven mommy!" I explained to him that it was pretend and that the lady was acting like someone who didn't believe in Jesus and that in a little bit I was going to pretend to be a Christian and tell about Jesus. He then said, "But that's not pretend, Mommy. That's REAL!"

Chris related this story to me:

Jena Adams came over to visit with Aunt Sandy for a little bit and Aidan went over to give her a hug. Chris said teasingly, "Aidan, I thought you liked Jackie," and Aidan got all embarrarassed. Aunt Sandy told him 'there's only room in your heart for one girl.' Aidan replied, "There's only room in my heart for Jesus!" After that he whispered to Chris, "I have room in my heart for everybody." AWWW!

Although he told us just now he likes Jackie AND Jena. lol
