Evan: If you aren't good and do bad things, Santa will take you off the good list and put you on the naughty list, Meagan.
Meagan: I not on the bad list!
Evan: I know, but if you keep doing bad things you will be put on the bad list. Santa does that. He watches.
Meagan: No! I not on the bad list! I tellin'!
*runs to me*
Meagan: Mom, I not on the bad list.
Me: No, you aren't on the naughty list, sweetheart.
Evan: I was just telling her that she needs to be good because if she does bad things Santa will put her on the naughty list. That is just what he does.
Meagan: NOOOO, EVAN. HE NOT! I AM A GIRL! I not on the bad list. Girls not on the bad list. You on the bad list. You a boy.
(I am dying laughing right now...)

Evan Charles Dennison 6/1/2011
I have 7 of those little storage ottomans in all different colors and I like to change the lids around so they all have different colored lids.. And then it's only a matter of time until Evan notices and switches them all back, "How they go." LOL He just put them all back. It bothers me that they match just as much as it bothers him when they don't. Ha. Changing them back. :)

Evan Charlie 5/25
Evan is very excited to be getting visitors today. His kindergarten teachers are coming to visit him this afternoon and bringing him a welcome gift bag. He asked me if this means kindergarten starts this week or if he still has to wait until August. LOL So this morning he said that he had to take a bath so he wouldn't be stinky (as usual, he ran his own bath, and washed and dried himself), then he got dressed in a button down shirt so he would look nice for his company, and then said he had to brush his teeth too because his breath had to smell good. He changed shirts twice. And now he's asking me every few minutes when they are going to be here. :)
The other day the boys were talking about what they want to be when they grow up and Evan said he wants to work on bridges and build and design houses. So, I told him architects design houses and bridges. Today he said, "Mom, I'm going to grow up and design and build you a house. And it's going to have a pool inside (SWEEET!) and I'm going to build it out of bricks so nothing can knock it over (been reading The Three Little Pigs lately? HA!) and put windows in it (thanks for that!) and make sure the doors are REALLY bigger than usual because I'm going to be very tall and I will need to be able to come in and visit you.
<3 it! :)

Today Evan announced, "When Meagan grows up, I'm going to marry her." (With a big grin and deep certainty in his voice. HAHA)

Evan Charles... I mean Charlie... April 25, 2011
I wrote "Evan Charles Dennison" on Evan's bag of Easter candy. He said, "I HATE when you call me that. It's Evan CHARLIE Dennison." I replied, "You know, it says Evan Charles Dennison on your birth certificate, right? So that's your real name." "AHHHHH!" he moaned. "I'm Evan CHARLIE!" I want to CHANGE my birth certificate!! Rofl I told him when he gets older if he still feels that way he's welcome to do so. *giggles*

Evan: "Aww, man! The snow is melting!"
Me: "That's ok, hun. There's a big storm coming today."
Evan: "You mean a gigantic SNOW storm??"
Me: "Yes, there's going to be more snow."
Evan: "But will it blow our house away?"
Me: "No, our house will be fine."
Evan: "Whheeeewww!!! That's good. My undies will be safe in my dresser drawer! Cuz that's where they are and I can't have them blowing away!"

Christmas 2010
I accidentally deleted the entire photo card on my digital camera. :( Lost so many good pictures of Christmas!
I thought I'd type up a quick little memory blog. I'll write more as I remember stuff!
I forgot my dad's present here at our house and so I made him an IOU card just to be silly. I wrapped it in tissue paper and put it in a gift bag. When dad unwrapped it he missed the card and pulled out a pine needle that had dropped in the bag. It hit Evan Charlie so funny that he giggled and giggled! "Oh! Pop Pop thought the pine needle was his Christmas present!!" He constantly retells that one! :)
Meagan leaned up against my Uncle Charlie just looking up at him wanting snuggles! She is so picky about who she goes to voluntarily, it was just so precious! I had the best pic of that on my camera. Bummed I deleted it! She sat on his lap for a while.
Meagan was so cute unwrapping presents... VERY SLOWLY! At Aunt Sandy's house she sat with her arms around the puppy she got for her first gift and just kept sliding one hand in and out of her second present. It took her quite awhile to decide to see what was inside.
Aidan is on the verge of losing his belief in Santa. He's a bit of a skeptic, but he has to cover all the bases. "Santa is NOT REAL!!" "Mom, we better leave out milk and cookies AND carrots for all the reindeer, because if Santa comes we have to have something for him!"

Evan Charlie 12/8/2010
Me: Evan Charlie, I think I am going to take a nap today. My ear and neck hurt soo bad.
Evan: You should.
Me: Yeah, but I don't want to leave you all by yourself out here. I don't want you to be lonely while Meagan and I are sleeping.
Evan: (a slow smile spreads across his face) It's okay. I'm not lonely. I know that God is always with us, so it's okay. You can take a nap.
Awww. :)

Evan, May 30, 2010
Chris was discussing a passage of Scripture with me about unbelievers vs. believers.
Aidan said, "I'm a believer, you're a believer (pointing at Chris). Evan is a believer...?"
I replied, "I'm not sure if Evan is a believer or not, Aidan."
Evan pipes up and says, "I asked Jesus in my heart!"
We all just looked at him! First off, he's four years old, and his understanding of the term believer was phenomenal, and secondly, Evan has made it clear that he has NOT asked Jesus in his heart. He has said as much on many occasions.
Chris asked him when it happened, and Evan said, "I did it quietly when we were in the car yesterday."
(yesterday, to Evan, means any day before today... LOL)
Chris asked, "where were we at?"
Evan said, "At Walmart"
That was the day that Chris had talked to Evan about salvation and Aidan had told Evan how he got saved. :) Evan apparently thought about everything, and asked Jesus into his heart secretly.
Now when he talks about it he says that it was a secret, and that's why he didn't tell anyone before. LOL
So sweet! :)

Iron Man tattoo part 2:
Evan: MOMMY! MOMMY! Look! Look at my arm!
Me: What?
Evan: Look at my tattoo! It's coming off!
Me: that happens honey.
Evan (in a whiney voice) but I PRAYED that it would stay on forever!
from the other room....
Aian: (in his matter of fact teaching tone) Evan, prayer doesn't work like that. You don't always get what you are wishing for. And besides, I helped you pray it so maybe that's why you didn't get it because you didn't ask God all by yourself.

Aidan, April 11, 2010
We shared an elevator ride at Macy's with a very pretty young lady.
The lady looks at the three of our kids and says wow! You have a handful! I giggled and nodded, saying that I was thankful that one of them went back to school tomorrow.
Aidan says, "I am 6, and I go to kindergarten! He's Evan and he's four. He doesn't go to school because he pees the bed all the time."

Aidan and Evan April 10, 2010

the boys were tucked into bed I heard the faint sound of voices. I strained to listen and it sounded like Aidan was having Evan repeat a prayer after him. Of course, I was curious... I tiptoed over to their bedroom door and paused to listen.
Aidan: "Noo, No Evan. Start over. Repeat after me. Dear Jesus.
Evan: "Dear Jesus"
Aidan:"I know"
Evan:"I know"
Aidan:"that"
Evan:"that"
Aidan:"I"
Evan:"I"
Aidan:"have"
Evan:"have"
Aidan:"a fake Iron man tattoo"
Evan:"a fake Iron man tattoo"
Aidan:"and"
Evan:"and"
Aidan: "I"
Evan: "I"
Aidan: "want you to make it so it stays on FOREVER!"

Aidan: "amen!"
Evan: "amen!"

Evan April 9, 2010
Evan came out of the bedroom wearing his 'rock mutt' t-shirt and said "Mommy! I'm wearing my totally awesome t-shirt to show Hannah!"
Lunch time comes around and he spilled his cherry pudding on his shirt. "Oh no Mom! I got pudding on my totally awesome shirt! I wanted to show it to Hannah! Now what am I going to wear?"
"Don't you have any other totally awesome shirts?"
"NOOO! I need a totally awesome shirt!"
"What about the yellow one with the guitar on it?"
"Oh yeah! That IS a totally awesome shirt!"
So he puts on the yellow guitar shirt and goes back to the table to finish lunch.
"MOOOOOMMM! I got strawberry juice on my 'nother totally awesome shirt!!" comes the panicked voice of Evan Charlie.
I ended up washing both of the 'totally awesome shirts' right then and there. So funny!

I told Evan we needed to clean their room today because they didn't have any room to play. "It's soo sad" I said. He replies, "I know. We should pray to God for him to clean our room."

Evan came in and said "Once upon a time I tried one of those chocolate balls in the fridge and they were really good!" (Chocolate smudged all over his face)

"I believe in Santa and Mrs. Claus, so I'm going to get lots of presents. Aidan doesn't believe in Santa anymore, so he's not going to get any presents at all!"
